Most pianos benefit from tuning once every six months. Instruments used heavily for teaching or performance may need more frequent visits.

Many long-neglected pianos can be brought back to life, but they may require a pitch raise and careful assessment of their condition. You’ll always receive honest advice about what’s realistic.

A standard tuning usually takes around 60–90 minutes, depending on the instrument and its condition.

Please ensure the piano is accessible, with enough space to work and minimal background noise. Avoid moving the piano immediately before a visit if possible.

Digital pianos don’t require tuning in the same way as acoustic instruments. However, advice can be given on maintenance and when it might be time to consider an acoustic piano.

Many piano repairs can be carried out to restore your instrument to its best condition. I will provide honest advice about what’s realistic and give you a clear estimate of the work required.

A standard tuning costs £90. If your piano requires extra work such as a pitch raise, tape replacement or regulation, I will give you a quote for the work before carrying it out. If your piano is unable to be tuned, an examination of the piano and a verbal report will be given, and a call out fee of £50 will apply to cover travel.

I accept bank transfers, credit/debit cards, and cash payments. For organisations, I can also provide invoices for accounting purposes.
